National 4-H Youth Advisory Committee has just completed their first year! Therefore, we evaluated what we completed, looked at our goals for the upcoming year(s) and how we can effectively reach them, and also did a restructure.
Over the course of the first year, we accomplished a lot. We had 4,000 new young alumni added to the database, $1 million worth of advertising donated from Comcast, cultivated one new board member to join National 4-H Council Board of Trustees, attended 14 ambassador opportunities, attended six national thought leadership events, stewarded over $13 million, attended four Board of Trustee meetings, began to create a Young Alumni Transition Toolkit, had over 1,000 responses to a survey about how to best serve young alumni, participated in two focus groups, and did a Crowdrise campaign.
This coming year, even with the restructure, we will still hold our three main focus areas; ambassadorship, bringing a youth voice, and directly supporting the 4-H mission. We have, however, disbanded the cohort model. We will now put more of our effort towards ambassador events, stewarding/ cultivating donors, participating in focus groups, and professional development.
